Any tips on repairing a cello's fingerboard?

some notes on my cello aren't sounding properly, and my best guess is that the area of the fingerboard may have something to do with it. the strings can't be to blame, since not all the notes on a single string sound scratchy. the board's got some wear on it, so i was hoping there might be some kind of board polish or something. any help would be appreciated.
