How to have my throat stop hurting?

I have had a sore throat for the last 3 days and I went to the doctor and he said my allergies caused a infection in my throat and when I talk my voice is very scratchy and hurts when I burp or swallow pretty bad. Sometimes it even feels like needles in my throat when I swallow and he gave me antibiotics and they don't seem to be helping much. Help ):
