I need help fixing my singing voice?? vocal tips?

i need some vocal tips like i know how to sing and all but when i do my voice tends to sound really flat and sometimes even scratchy and i was wonder if there are any tips for this. and yes i am self taught singing and my parents currently cant afford to send to me singing lesson so any help from here would be great thanks so much!
